Resiestrela maintains certification for its Integrated Quality, Environment and Safety System, according to the main national normative references, namely ISO 9001:2015 – Quality, ISO 14001:2015 – Environment and ISO 45001:2019 – Occupational Health and Safety.
The maintenance of the certification was achieved after the certifying body, Bureau Veritas, carried out the necessary audit to verify the QAS Certification.
The Certification covers all of Resiestrela's processes and activities, and includes the facilities of the Cova da Beira Urban Solid Waste Treatment Center (located in Fundão), and the Transfer Stations and Eco-centers located in the municipalities of Almeida, Belmonte, Celorico da Beira, Fornos de Algodres, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, Fundão, Guarda, Manteigas, Mêda, Penamacor, Pinhel, Sabugal and Trancoso.
The Integrated Management System aims, in general, to establish objectives and goals with a view to the continuous improvement of the company's performance, as well as the full compliance with all mandatory requirements inherent to Resiestrela's activity.
In addition, the Certification also aims at prevention in the area of worker health at Resiestrela, both with regard to occupational diseases and work-related incidents.
With regard to the Environment, the Certification becomes an indispensable tool for pollution prevention and minimization of environmental impacts, through the use of Best Available Techniques and best practices used in the solid waste management sector.
This Certification thus recognizes Resiestrela's orientation towards the continuous improvement of its performance, and the good practices implemented in the daily management of its processes.
