RESIESTRELA is responsible for the treatment and recovery of urban waste in the municipalities of Almeida, Belmonte, Celorico da Beira, Covilhã, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, Fornos de Algodres, Fundão, Guarda, Manteigas, Meda, Penamacor, Pinhel, Sabugal and Trancoso, thus contributing to the sustainable development of the region and the country and to the maximization of human well-being through value creation.

The system currently serves a population of 180,483 inhabitants, covering an area of ​​6,132 km², which corresponds to approximately 7% of the Portuguese territory.
