The Mota-Engil Group is deeply saddened to announce that António Mota, the Group's long-standing leader who served as its chairman for more than 27 years, from 1995 to January 2023, passed away this morning in the city of Porto. Today we bid farewell to an extraordinary man, a visionary entrepreneur who leaves behind a unique legacy, known for his humanistic spirit and solidarity with society, and the mark he left on everyone who knew him.

The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) 2025 takes place between November 22nd and 30th, with a special focus on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), a rapidly growing stream with a strong environmental impact. The initiative also aims to promote the essential principles of reduction, reuse, and recycling, encouraging citizens, public and private entities to adopt more sustainable practices.

The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) takes place from November 22nd to 30th and, this year, focuses on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), under the motto "Turn on the value. Turn off the waste". The objective is to draw attention to the accelerated growth of electronic waste in the European Union, raising awareness among citizens, companies and organizations for more sustainable consumption and management practices for this equipment.

At the end of 2024, RESIESTRELA conducted a stakeholder survey by sending digital questionnaires to monitor customer perception regarding the degree to which their needs and expectations were being met. This evaluation covered Municipal Councils, Parish Councils, SIGRE clients, organic compost clients, Product and Service clients, and Door-to-Door Selective Collection clients (Commerce and Services), allowing for the collection of valuable contributions on various aspects of the services provided.

Aligned with customer behavior trends, the Recycling Line app aims to facilitate and encourage recycling through a practical, accessible, and intuitive tool that allows users to ask questions and contribute to the adoption of more conscious behaviors and good environmental practices in their daily lives.

EGF was awarded two prizes at the 5th edition of the National Sustainability Award, promoted by the Jornal de Negócios newspaper. This recognition highlights the work of all the group's companies, including RESIESTRELA, and the daily commitment of more than 3,000 employees throughout the country.
